R44 booster seat

Under Portuguese law (Article 55 of the Highway Code), children must use an appropriate child restraint until they reach 135 cm in height or turn 12, whichever comes first. A booster seat helps position the vehicle’s seat belt correctly across the shoulder and hips, rather than the neck or abdomen.

This is a rigid, backless booster seat. Although models approved under the older R44 regulation may still be used in certain circumstances, we strongly recommend a high-back booster for better side-impact protection and proper seat belt positioning, ideally until your child reaches 150 cm.

We recommend this backless booster only in specific situations, such as when trying to fit a third child in the back seat (although this may not always be possible) or for taller children, particularly when the vehicle has side airbags. Always check that the seat belt fits your child correctly and follow the vehicle and booster seat manufacturer's instructions.
